Manteca High an aging 100-year campus with numerous infrastructure and program space deficiencies is poised to become an education center for the 21st century within five years.
It is also the first of the city’s three high school campuses being expanded to handle enrollment growth in the coming decades. Ultimately Sierra, East Union, and Manteca will have facilities that allow for a program capacity of 2,250 students roughly 600 to 700 more students than each campus currently have enrolled.

SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, Calif. Starting Friday, San Joaquin County schools will take a big step on the road to fully reopening their classrooms.
Coronavirus vaccinations for the county’s 20,000 school employees will take place on certain days throughout February and March at the San Joaquin County Office of Education’s (SJCOE) Stockton campus.

The largest cluster of half-plexes ever built in Manteca 112 are being advanced for a project to convert what was a 184-acre grape vineyard into a new neighborhood with at least 739 homes.
They are basically duplexes that are built so each unit can be sold separately. It is the first project ever proposed south of the 120 Bypass that is neither a traditional free-standing single family home or an apartment complex.

Students walking going to and from Lathrop High School will soon have a safer passage.
Earlier this month the Lathrop City Council received an update on the ongoing project to install traffic signals at the intersection of Spartan Way – where Lathrop Road becomes west of I-5 – and Golden Valley Parkway that has been in the works for years.
The construction contract to finally complete the work was awarded in May of last year. The project is expected to be completed by the middle of next month.
