May 8, 2021 A state Route 154, Elkrun Township, man reported at 9:55 a.m. Tuesday his cousin stole his medication. A Y and O Road, Madison Township, woman reported at 9:29 a.m. Thursday someone had entered her shed by cutting a hole in the side and stole her pig. One of the side doors was taken also. She believes it was the Humane Society, but she has called them and no one called her back. She found something on the Humane Society’s Facebook page where they were seeking donations for the pig, which was in photos. She was concerned she was not served a search warrant before the pig was taken. Further she reported the pig was healthy and looks healthy in the photos. Deputies told her to contact an attorney.

The dogs were found April 9 in the 4300 block of 25th Street Southwest in Vero Beach. They were lethargic, dehydrated and terrified when they were found, the Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County wrote on Facebook, adding that the dogs were found without food, water or shelter. David Yates, 64, faces 26 charges of animal cruelty and more serious charges could be on the way as two of the puppies have died. Deputies said the current misdemeanor charges could be upgraded to felonies for those two counts.
