Mansukh Hiren Case: Cop Sachin Vaze removed from Mumbai crime branch, says Anil Deshmukh
Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh On Wednesday announced the removal of Mumbai police officer Sachin Vaze from the Crime Intelligence Unit till the inquiry into the mysterious death of automobile parts dealer Mansukh Hiran is not completed. While making the announcement in the Maharashtra Legislative Council, Deshmukh said the state government will conduct an impartial probe into the death of Hiran. Police officer Sachin Vaze will be removed from his current posting in the crime branch till the investigation is not completed. I am taking this decision in view of the rising demand from the opposition, the minister said.
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], March 10 (ANI): Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh on Wednesday said that the government has decided to remove Assistant Police Inspector Sachin Vaze from the Crime Branch because his name came up in the statement of Mansukh Hiren's wife.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anil Parab also announced in the assembly that he will be transferred.
Former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also alleged that the government is protecting Sachin Vaze. We had demanded that Sachin Vaze should be suspended and arrested. Until action is taken against him, and Mansukh Hiren don t get justice, we will continue our battle.
Earlier, Fadnavis had claimed that Hiran s wife had alleged in her statement to police that her husband may have been killed by assistant police inspector Sachin Vaze.
On February 25, a Scorpio, belonging to Hiren, with 20 gelatin sticks inside, was found near Antilia, Ambani s high-rise residence in south Mumbai. Later, Hiran s body was found in a creek in neighbouring Thane.
