INDIANOLA, Iowa After COVID-19 impacted so much, Special Olympics Iowa started holding in-person games this week for the first time in 15 months.
Athletes sprinted, threw and rolled back into competition Thursday, never missing a beat. We miss our athletes and they miss us. We ve done everything virtual for the last year and we ve gotten to see them but not in person, SOI Senior Director of Sports and Programs Dawn Criss aid. HAMMOND, La. (WVUE) - After observing Autism Awareness Month in April, the Hammond Police Department held a public celebration at Cate Square Park in the city’s downtown district.
The department said that officers took autism awareness training provided by Infinity Therapeutic Services.

Throughout the month of April, officers wore personalized blue badges with the names of members of the community with autism. The badges were paid for by families and local businesses.

DUBAI: The 2022 Dakar Rally will take place across the deserts of Saudi Arabia between January 2 and 14, it was been announced by Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO) and the Saudi Arabian Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (SAMF) in a virtual presentation on Tuesday night.

WOOSTER A generous donation from Miss Amy s Bakery will put the Wayne County Public Special Olympics team back on the bowling lanes this year.
In honor of Autism Awareness Month in April, bakery owner Amy Crosland wanted to raise money for a cause special to one of her favorite customers, Andrew Vossler, 17. She reached out to Vossler s mother, Carrie Buchanan-Farkas, who suggested Vossler s involvement with the local Special Olympics team.
Blue cupcakes for autism awareness
With Vossler s input, Crosland sold blue iced cupcakes, the color associated with autism awareness, during April. Each cupcake came with a side of sprinkles, or sparkles as Crosland and Vossler refer to them. The bakery raised $2,750.50 for Wayne County Public Special Olympics.
