Health experts: Face masks can help reduce seasonal allergies

Health experts say face masks can help some people with their seasonal allergies.
The masks can be good at filtering out pollen and allergens in the air.
Some masks may be more effective than others for allergy sufferers.
“The surgical masks especially filter out the smaller particles in the air and actually a lot of the allergens in the air are bigger than the size the mask would filter out so yes any airborne allergen might help certain individuals who are allergic to pollens,” said Dr. Erin Morcomb of Mayo Clinic Health System’s Family Medicine Department.
