Marriott’s Luxury Collection has debuted in South Korea with the opening of Josun Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Seoul Gangnam. Originally built in 1914 as one of Korea’s first luxury hotels, the hotel is located in Gangnam.
The hotel celebrates the heritage of the first opulent hotel in Korea, the century-old Chosun Hotel, once an iconic landmark in the heart of the city. Designed by renowned architectural team Humbert & Poyet of Monaco, Josun Palace redefines luxury by combining sophisticated, modern aesthetics with timeless Korean design elements such as strong lines and bold geometric patterns. The hotel’s arrival area and its Grand Reception usher guests into a world of elegance and Korean hospitality.
Desmone Architects and Stonehill Taylor led design
The Industrialist Hotel, Autograph Collection, has opened in Pittsburgh’s central business district. The 124-room hotel, owned by HRI Properties and managed by HRI Lodging, is housed within the 18-story landmark Arrott building.
The hotel, inspired by Pittsburgh’s resilient history as a steel capital, was meticulously restored and renovated by Desmone Architects and designed by Stonehill Taylor, and features a dynamic lobby bar, social lounge with fireplace and communal seating, fitness center, and signature modern American restaurant the Rebel Room.

Marriott International has announced it signed an agreement to introduce the JW Marriott brand to Madrid. JW Marriott Madrid will be developed by Millenium Hotels Real Estate as part of its lease agreement with a wholly owned subsidiary of Belagua, and is expected to open in 2022.
The hotel’s design will be led by local architects Arvo Arquitectura de Juan, with interiors by the Madrid team at Rockwell Group. Design plans are expected to offer a sense of balance and warmth, inspired by the principles of mindfulness, using natural elements, interesting textures, and tactile spaces.
