Hospital admissions have seen another steep rise today, with 1,664 people now in hospital with coronavirus - an overnight increase of 126.
Speaking at today s daily briefing, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon confirmed that the figure was now quite a bit above the peak of the first wave in April .
It comes amid growing fears and warnings of the NHS becoming overwhelmed due to the huge influx in covid patients.

Tougher lockdown restrictions could be needed in Scotland as the NHS is coming under “severe and increasing pressure” from coronavirus, Nicola Sturgeon has warned.
Days after mainland Scotland entered its second national lockdown, the First Minister warned stricter measures could still be needed to combat the faster spreading strain of Covid-19.
Her comments came as the number of people in hospital in Scotland with the virus rose to 1,467 – “pretty close” to the number reached at the peak of the first wave.
