The Congress leaders held talks with the church head Theodosius Mar Thoma Metropolitan seeking support in the upcoming assembly polls. On the other day, the two leaders had visited the Orthodox church headquarters. Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church is a crucial group in Pathanamthitta district. During the local body polls, the church had differences of opinion with the UDF. A dispute had broken out over the representation in district panchayat.
