KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): The second week of the Dewan Rakyat meeting saw opposition and government MPs raise various issues during the debate session and they were answered by the relevant ministers within two days of the winding-up session.
ON April 1,2021, the Federation of Malaysian Consumers Associations (Fomca) and National Consumer Complaints Centre (NCCC) alerted the public about the sudden spike in scam-related complaints and asked them to be cautious and remain alert of such scams.
Perbadanan Insurans Deposit Malaysia (PIDM), as a statutory body that provides protection for financial consumers, is concerned about this issue.
PIDM wishes to inform the public that it only protects deposits kept in banks and with financial institutions that are member institutions of PIDM. This is in accordance with the mandate given to PIDM under the Malaysia Deposit Insurance Corporation Act 2005.

With the number of Covid-19 cases in Malaysia on the rise, Kuala Lumpur-based senior citizen Daisy Rita Savarimuthu, 62, welcomes the government s efforts to implement a movement control order (MCO) on Jan 13. The government needs to implement stricter measures to flatten the curve. There has been a sharp rise in the number of Covid-19 cases in our country and that s worrying. The first phase of MCO last March was effective and we hope the newest MCO can help to lessen the number of cases, said the former officer at Malaysia Deposit Insurance Corporation.
