Buncombe County COVID metrics improve as it moves to vaccinate teachers

Local COVID-19 metrics have dropped to where they were before the holidays, but it s no time for residents to let their guard down, says Public Health Director Stacie Saunders.  In a community update Feb. 23, she said that metrics are improving, but the community needs to keep practicing the three Ws. The county s current rate of 172 new cases per 100,000 residents per week represents a drop of 57% from the turn of the year, continuing a steady and consistent decline, she said.
