WHITPAIN — Montgomery County Community College received its largest gift in its 56-year history of $3 million from Kenneth D. Baker, a dedicated advocate of the College and its mission, for the creation of the Baker Center of Excellence for Employee Ownership and Business Transformation. The new Baker Center of Excellence, which will be located on MCCC’s Blue Bell Campus, will be a valuable component of MCCC’s approach to workforce development by supporting county and regional businesses and their growth and training for their employees. “The Baker Center of Excellence will be a driving force in business transformation and will help boost the economic recovery in Montgomery County and across the region, as it benefits and strengthens our area’s workforce,” said Dr. Victoria L. Rich, white New Yorkers flock to a low-income Dominican community and crowd out neighborhood people awaiting COVID-19 vaccinations in a cynical moment of intra-city vaccine tourism. Montgomery County calls on state to increase COVID vaccine shipments

Montgomery County s health department will run out of COVID vaccines early next week if it does not get another shipment of first doses from the state soon, commissioners chairwoman Valerie Arkoosh said Wednesday. The county received just 1,000 doses of the vaccine this week, about 3,500 fewer shots than it received last week, she said. This will allow our clinic to operate through next Monday, she said. That s only because we have vaccine from Monday and Tuesday clinics (which were canceled due to the snow.) If we don t receive more in time for Tuesday, we will not be able to offer vaccinations on that day, or until we receive additional first doses.

Call center to help offline Montgomery County residents register for coronavirus vaccine

NORRISTOWN — Acknowledging that scheduling a COVID-19 vaccine appointment is challenging for those who don’t have internet access, Montgomery County health officials plan to launch a phone call center to assist those who don’t have a computer in registering for a shot. “Early next week, we will open a call center for Montgomery County residents to answer questions about vaccinations. Shortly after that, we will add the ability to pre-register for vaccination by phone for those that do not have internet access or an email,” county Commissioners’ Chairwoman Dr. Valerie Arkoosh revealed at a news briefing this week. “We’re very pleased to be able to offer this to anyone who doesn’t have either internet access or a working email address,” Arkoosh said.
