Mother charged with first degree murder, abuse of 2-month-old child

A 19-year-old woman has been charged with first degree murder and aggravated child abuse for the death of her 2-month-old child.  On January 9, a 2-month-old child was transported to Tennova Medical Center unresponsive with a head injury, according to Clarksville Police.  The child was then life-flighted to Vanderbilt Children s Hospital and died three days later due to head injuries.  Police allege the child sustained the injuries while in the mother s care. The case was presented to the Montgomery County Grand Jury in April and on Friday, returned indictments for Whitney Page Brown.  Brown was taken into custody by the Metro Nashville Police Department and later transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

Police said during the investigation, they discovered the child had suffered injuries while in Brown’s care.
