Baloch asks govt to pay compensation for flood-hit people July 27, 2021 Balochistan Minister for Social Welfare Mir Asadullah Baloch has urged the federal government to announce compensation for flood affectees to address problems of the public in rain-affected areas in the province. “Rehabilitation of rain-affected people, as well as roads network, should be ensured for provision of facilities in the areas,” he said while talking to APP. Baloch said that funds should be released for flood-affected areas as per the need to deal with the emergency. The minister directed the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) to make all arrangements to rehabilitate the flood affectees. He said all concerned departments, agencies and district administrations should take proactive measures to deal with the situation arising out of the recent rains, ensuring full assistance to the affected people of the province. The departments should relocate the population from the affected areas

PDMA issues flash flood warning - Newspaper

PESHAWAR: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has asked the deputy commissioners to take all precautionary measures to avoid human loss as rain-wind-thundershowers with isolated heavy falls predicted from Monday to Friday may generate flash floods in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The PDMA also warned of urban flooding in Peshawar during this period, according to a letter sent to the deputy commissioners. The instructions were issued in light of the information given by Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) that strong monsoon currents were continuously penetrating in upper parts of the country and were likely to continue during the week. The PMD has forecast rains in Kohistan, Shangla, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Mardan, Charsadda, Nowshera, Dir, Chitral, Peshawar, Kohat, Tank and Karak districts from Monday to Friday.

According to meteorological office report, rain wind/thundershower is expected in Pothohar region, Gujrat, Narowal, Lahore, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Okara, Sahiwal, Mandi Bahauddin, Faisalabad, Mian Channu and Hafizabad. Isolated heavy falls are also expected during the period on Monday (night). Hot and humid weather is expected in other parts of the country. Rain wind/thundershower is expected in Pothohar region, Gujrat, Narowal, Lahore, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Okara, Sahiwal, Faisalabad, Hafizabad, Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar on Tuesday (today). Isolated heavy falls are also expected during the period.
