Islamabad [Pakistan], May 3 (ANI): Doctors community in Pakistan have threatened to suspend services until the government arrest Pakistan s Peoples Party s (PPP) legislator Nighat Orakzai, who led a mob to attack a COVID-19 hospital in Peshawar.
The doctors accused the woman lawmaker and others of harassing healthcare providers and using foul language against them, The News International reported.
The doctors urged the government to lodge FIR against lawmaker Nighat Orakzai and other culprits under the security act.
The incident took place on Friday night when a boy was taken to the casualty department of Hayatabad Medical Complex with a serious bullet injury on his head from the Jamrud subdivision in Khyber tribal district. The boy was reportedly caught in crossfire between two rival groups in Jamrud.

Doctors fear oxygen shortage in K-P

The Provincial Doctors Association (PDA) has raised fears of a looming shortage of oxygen in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) due to the rapid spread of Covid-19 infections and demanded that a Covid emergency be declared immediately.
The association also demanded an inquiry into the death of eight patients at Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) due to lack of facilities in the past few weeks.
PDA urged the government to take steps to ensure uninterrupted supply of oxygen as its demand has increased five-fold in recent days and is still going up.

The number of casualties of the doctors from COVID-19 has surged to 62 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Third wave of coronavirus has claimed life of another doctor in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday, raising the number of casualties of the doctors from COVID-19 to 62 in the province, Dunya News reported.
According to Provincial Doctors Association, Doctor John was admitted in the ICU ward of a hospital in provincial capital Peshawar and was on ventilator from past two weeks.
The association further revealed that so far the deadly virus has claimed lives of at least 62 doctors in the province.
