BOSTON, MA / ACCESSWIRE / May 17, 2021 / AmeriCann, Inc. (OTCQB:ACAN), a cannabis company that develops state-of-the-art cultivation, product manufacturing and distribution facilities, provided financial and operational updates for its flagship project, the Massachusetts Cannabis Center.
AmeriCann s Operating Revenue from the Massachusetts Cannabis Center increased nearly 60% for the quarter ending March 31, 2021 from the prior quarter. Additionally, the Company achieved positive adjusted EBITDA for the quarter. Also, the Company announced that it achieved all-time record revenue for the month of April, 2021.
A few days ago, the Cannabis Education Advocacy Symposium & Expo (CEASE) and the Cannabis Health Equity Movement (CHEM) hosted a Weedmaps-sponsored virtual conference designed to help legacy operators (previously operating in the illicit market) transition into the legal cannabis market.
New York State Majority Leader Crystal Peoples-Stokes headlined the event, providing an overview of both New York and New Jersey’s new adult-use laws and compared the two for patients, consumers and legacy operators. The event attracted over 300 participants and featured panels on legacy leadership and advocacy and getting a medical card. LEE â Lee is a step closer to getting its second recreational marijuana store.
After a two-hour public hearing Tuesday night, the Select Board unanimously backed a special permit for Forest Wilde LLC to convert the Cork âN Hearth into a facility to manufacture and sell marijuana products.
The 3-0 vote followed mixed support for the project, dominated by the potential impact the facility would have on traffic on the state highway.
The Zoom meeting also featured comments and dozens of letters from Lee residents, along with several Berkshire businesspeople, saying the company should have a chance to succeed.
But, Lakehouse Inn owner Cody Gavin felt that the marijuana store didnât belong next door to his establishment.
“It’s time for the commission to do what it’s supposed to do,” Knights said.
Northeast Alternatives and its chief executive Chris Harkins have not been named in a federal court case now underway in Boston charging former Fall River mayor Jasiel Correia with extortion and taking kickbacks from potential marijuana business interests who wanted to operate in the city.
Assistant Attorney General Julie Green, representing the Cannabis Control Commission, did, however, said that Harkins is expected to testify in the trial.
Green told the judge that the trial is not an impediment to the cannabis commission rendering a decision.
