Westborough men talk about a cold day & night on the street for homeless
Wicked Local
The idea was really a simple one: Pitch some sort of large cardboard box in a suburban asphalt lot, spend all day and all night there to show what the homeless go through daily, and raise some funds. The concept may have been thought of before, but a pair of Westborough men followed through on it.
Now, because of that effort, a charitable organization is $30,635 the better for it. And so are many homeless men and women who will benefit from the experience of John Bogaert and his friend, Scott Henderson, both 51, who spent A Night in the Cold (all day and night, really) beginning at 8:45 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, until 10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 28.
