A college student working to enter the medical field is sharing her incredible experience of helping to deliver a baby during her summer internship.Corinna Kent, of Needham, is a pre-med student at Baylor University who earned her emergency medical technician certificate from Massachusetts Bay Community College this summer.Last Friday, Kent was on her first ambulance ride-along for her internship with Patriot Ambulance when a call came in for a woman in labor in Marlborough. The team quickly realized they were not going to make it to the hospital in time. We were going down the road, approximately a mile or two miles, the baby starts crowning, which means imminent birth is coming, said Catherine Lamburn, a paramedic for Patriot Ambulance. Once you see the head, you know that the rest of the baby is coming, Kent said.Kent, Lamburn and paramedic David Arsenault then delivered a healthy baby boy with a good head of hair, happy smile and beautiful eyes, according to Kent.
