J-K govt appoints public prosecutors for expeditious trial

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], June 23 (ANI): The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Tuesday appointed public prosecutors in the Fast Track Courts for conducting the expeditious trial of rape cases and the cases registered under the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences, Act, 2012 (POCSO).
To ensure that the criminal cases are properly contested, the Government after undertaking a comprehensive review affected transfers in the Prosecution Cadre with the objective of having a separate Public Prosecutor for conducting the prosecution, depending upon the number of cases pending trial in the Courts.

The Organization for Women and Children (ORWOCH), a local non-governmental organization, has presented seventy-five copies of the Domestic Violence Act to the National Trial Judges Association of Liberia (NATJL).
Presenting the Act on February 1, 2021, Mmonbeydo N. Joah, Executive Director of ORWOCH, said the Act was printed with support from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODOC) for onward distribution to Magisterial Courts, prosecutors, trial judges and SGBV coordinators across the country.
She revealed plans to make similar donation to the Prosecutors Association of Liberia in the coming weeks.

Holiday List for 2021 released today by Assam govt
The Assam government today has released the holiday list for all Offices under Government of Assam as well as its Revenue and Magisterial Courts.

Guwahati: With only a few days remaining before 2021, the Government of Assam today has released the official list of Holidays applicable to all the Offices as well as Revenue and Magisterial Courts under it. Dated 18th of December, the holiday list came after a decision was taken in a Cabinet meeting held on 13 December. The Cabinet approved the holiday list for 2021.
