Suit alleges speeding driver caused rear-end collision

EDWARDSVILLE A motorist injured in a rear-end collision in Edwardsville claims the other driver was speeding.  David M. Patton filed a complaint June 17 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Richard T. Seaton, alleging negligence.  Patton claims in his suit that he was driving his vehicle on South Main Street in Edwardsville on July 12, 2019, and was lawfully stopped. He alleges Seaton, who was driving behind him, failed to stop, struck his vehicle in the rear and caused him to suffer injuries to his head, neck, back, shoulder and arm.  Patton claims Seaton was driving at a speed that was not proper or reasonable with respect to traffic conditions, failed to reduce his speed or brake to avoid the collision and did not keep his eyes on the road in front of him.  

Motorist alleges injuries from Target parking lot collision

Kelly EDWARDSVILLE A motorist claims she suffered severe and permanent injuries when another driver collided with her vehicle in the parking lot of the Alton Target.   Pamela A. Pace filed a complaint June 17 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Suzann Privett, alleging negligence.  According to the complaint, Pace was driving her vehicle in the parking lot of the Target on Homer M. Adams Parkway in Alton on July 1, 2019. She alleges that Privett was driving her vehicle in a different direction in the parking lot when she forcefully struck the passenger side of the plaintiff s vehicle.  Pace claims Privett was speeding through the parking lot and failed to stop, reduce her speed or turn to avoid the collision. She also claims Privett failed to keep her eyes on the marked lanes of traffic in front of her and failed to operate her vehicle in a lawful manner.  

Intoxicated woman allegedly forced out of car gets struck by passing vehicle

Margolis EDWARDSVILLE A woman claims a man forced her to get out of his vehicle while she was intoxicated, causing her to be struck by another vehicle while walking along the dark roadway.  Tina Moore filed a complaint June 18 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Patricia Kraus and Ryan Perrey, alleging negligence.  According to the complaint, Moore was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Perrey on Oct. 19, 2019, that was traveling on Illinois Route 3 near the intersection of North Gate Industrial Drive. Moore claims Perrey wrongfully ejected her and caused her to exit the car. Moore alleges that as she was walking along the shoulder of Illinois Route 3 after exiting the car, she was struck by Kruas, who was driving his vehicle along the road.
