India s total Active Caseload stands at 1.68 lakh (1,68,358) today as the country added 12,286 new cases in the last 24 hours. The country s present active caseload now consists of 1.51% of India s total Positive Cases. 80.33% of the new cases are from 5 States. Maharashtra continues to report the highest daily new cases at 6,397. It is followed by Kerala with 1,938 while Punjab reported 633 new cases. Two states, Maharashtra and Kerala alone account for 67.84% of total active cases.
Five States cumulatively account for 84.16% of the total active cases in the country. Maharashtra alone accounts for 46.82% of India s total active cases, followed by Kerala with 28.61%. Six States/UTs have a weekly Positivity Rate higher than the national average of 2.00%. Maharashtra leads all the states with a weekly positivity rate of 10.02%.
The ruling BJP recorded a massive victory in the local body polls in Gujarat on Tuesday by winning clear majority in all 31 district panchayats as well as in 196 out of 231 taluka panchayats and 74 out of 81 municipalities. The Congress, the main opposition party in the state, won a clear majority in only one municipality and 18 taluka panchayats, while AIMIM and AAP also made their presence felt. In six municipalities and 15 taluka panchayats no party has got clear majority. The BJP s success followed its victory in all six municipal corporations where polls were held in the first phase of local elections on February 21.
Bajaj Healthcare rose 3.80% to Rs 495 after the company received consent from Maharashtra Control Board (MPCB) to resume its operations at Tarapur unit in Maharashtra.
The MPCB had issued a notice on 14 January 2021 to the company directing the closure of operations at its Tarapur unit for alleged violation of the provisions of Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act 1974, Air (Prevention and Control Pollution) Act 1981 and the Rules made thereunder.
MPCB vide its letter dated 1 March 2021 gave its consent to the company for restarting manufacturing activities at its unit situated at MIDC Tarapur.

The Mumbai-based real estate developer will acquire two plots in Sanpada, Navi Mumbai from the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO).Godrej Properties (GPL) announced the addition of a new residential project in Sanpada, Navi Mumbai. GPL emerged as the highest bidder in the CIDCO e-auctioning process with the total bidding value of Rs 166 crore for the two adjacent plots.
