A man from Oldham has been sentenced to 18 years in jail after sexually abusing three young boys.
Today (Friday), Colin Cooley (aged 50) of no fixed abode was sentenced at Manchester Crown Square Crown Court to 18 years in prison after pleading guilty to four counts of rape, five counts of penetrative sex acts with a child, five counts of indecent assault, five counts of gross indecency with a child and five counts of sexual assault.
He was also ordered to sign the sex offenders register for life, issued with a lifelong sexual harm prevention order and a restraining order for life against all three victims.
A MAN from Bury has been jailed following a dispute involving a knife in Manchester. Shujaat Ali, 20, of Balmoral Avenue, Bury was sentenced at Manchester Crown Square Court on February 5 and has been jailed for two years after pleading guilty to attempted Section 20 assault. The court heard how In July 2020, a 17-year-old boy was sat at the Abraham Moss Tram Stop with two of his friends when he was approached by Ali who had a knife hidden up his sleeve. Ali engaged in a conversation with the boy before producing the knife from his sleeve and trying to stab him twice in the torso. Luckily, the boy managed to escape from Ali s reach unscathed.
