Vaccination sites will be open in Vermont despite snow

MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) Vaccination sites will be open on Tuesday in Vermont as most of the state is expected to get a half to a foot (15-30 centimeters) of snow but anyone concerned about traveling can reschedule their appointments, state officials said Monday.
Vermont is now vaccinating people aged 75 and older who have registered for appointments.
Those who cannot get to their appointments or do not want to travel in the snow should call 855-722-7878 to reschedule, the Vermont Joint Information Center said in a statement. They will be given a new appointment later in the week and will not have to start the registration process over, the center said.

Police â some in full tactical gear â appeared ready, but the pro-Trump riot stayed away through the early afternoon. Following a nationwide call for all state capitals to be on alert for armed supporters of President Donald Trump causing unrest, Montpelier got prepared. Mayor Anne Watson urged potential counter-protesters (and other citizens) to stay away from the State House to avoid confrontation and stay safe in a public address earlier in the week. State police, Capitol police, and the Montpelier Police Department beefed up their presence around town throughout the weekend.

Groups who supported the storming of the Capitol and who have called into question the legitimacy of the election have widely called for protests in capitals in every state on Inauguration Day, Jan. 20, but also Sunday, Jan. 17, a symbolic date for Q Anon followers because Q is the 17th letter in the alphabet.
