CROOKSTON, Minn. A person of interest in a Grand Forks homicide investigation has been apprehended in Crookston and is being held in Polk County.
Vincent Chase Villarreal, 28, was arrested at the North Acre Estates trailer park by the Crookston Police Department with assistance from the Pine to Prairie Violent Crimes Enforcement Team and the Grand Forks Regional Special Operations Group just before 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30.

A person of interest in a Grand Forks homicide investigation has been apprehended in Crookston and is being held in Polk County.
Vincent Chase Villarreal, 28, was arrested at the North Acre Estates trailer park by the Crookston Police Department with assistance from the Pine to Prairie Violent Crimes Enforcement Team and the Grand Forks Regional Special Operations Group just before 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30. Crookston police called his arrest a high-risk warrant service.

CROOKSTON, Minn. (KFGO) – A man wanted for questioning in a Grand Forks homicide investigation was arrested Wed. morning in Crookston.
28-year-old Vincent Villarreal was arrested in the North Acres Estates trailer park.
Villarreal was arrested on a Minnesota Department of Corrections warrant. Police were assisted by the Grand Forks Regional Special Operations Group and Pine to Prairie Violent Crimes Enforcement Team in serving the high-risk arrest warrant.
Villarreal is considered a “person of interest” in the death of 55-year-old Jeffrey Schultzitski who was found dead in a room of the Budget Inn Express Motel in Grand Forks on Dec. 5.

At about 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, the Crookston Police Department and Pine to Prairie Violent Crimes Enforcement Team, with the assistance of the Grand Forks Regional Special Operations Group, executed a high-risk arrest warrant in the North Acres Estates mobile h park in Crookston. Vincent Chase Villarreal, 28, of East Grand Forks was arrested on a Minnesota Department of Corrections warrant and transported to the Northwest Regional Corrections Center in Crookston.
According to information provided by CPD Chief Paul Biermaier, Jose Angel DeLeon, 38, of Crookston was also arrested on matters related to probation and/or court conditions and transported to the NWRCC.
