UPDATE 1.15pm:
A 25-year-old Mooloolaba man has been charged following the suspected hit and run death which claimed the life of a 21-year-old Minyama man.
The Mooloolaba man, on a working holiday visa, attended Maroochydore Police Station on Friday morning in relation to the incident on Maroochy Blvd.
Forensic Crash Unit investigators charged him with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death and leaving the scene of incident without obtaining help.
The man has been given police bail to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on January 22.
The man’s sedan has been seized and subject to forensic examination.
Sunshine Coast CIB officer-in-charge Daren Edwards said the man s wife and primary-school-aged child have been referred to the Homicide Victim s Support Group. He said the alleged offender was released on bail to reside in an address in Brisbane s southside. He has a tracking bracelet on him, just to restrict him from coming to the Coast, Snr-Sgt Edwards said. Snr-Sgt Edwards said police allege the pair were not associated and the only link was the Maroochydore Hotel near where the incident took place. A 31-year-old man was charged with grievous bodily harm, possessing dangerous drugs and possessing drug utensils. He was next due to face Maroochydore Magistrates Court on February 19, with charges that may be upgraded to unlawful striking causing death.

1. Gympie dad busted with cocaine, ecstasy in nightclub
A young Gympie dad busted with $300 of cocaine and ecstasy at a popular nightclub in Maroochydore was on parole for assault at the time, a Gympie court heard.
At 1am on March 21, security guards from The Post Office Bar on Ocean Street detained Aiden Kalem Dyett Dolling, 24, and approached police who were patrolling the safe night precinct.

Police update: Serious assault investigation at Maroochydore
A 50-year-old Kuluin man who was allegedly seriously assaulted in Maroochydore on December 19 has died in hospital overnight.
A 31-year-old man has been charged with grievous bodily harm, possessing dangerous drugs and possessing drug utensils.
He is next due to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on February 19 where his charges are expected to be upgraded.

Subscriber only A man who was found with serious head injuries after an alleged assault in Maroochydore has died in hospital. The 50-year-old Kuluin man was found on Main Rd about 1:20am on December 19. Police alleged he was punched in the face before falling backwards on a hard surface. Sunshine Coast Criminal Investigation Branch officer-in-charge Craig Mansfield confirmed the man had been on life-support in a critical condition at the Royal Brisbane and Women s Hospital since Sunday morning.
