Breaux Bridge man arrested in deadly shooting View Comments A Breaux Bridge man has been arrested in connection with an early morning shooting Saturday that left one person dead.  Warren Joseph Chavis, 57, was arrested Saturday on charges including second-degree murder, possessing a firearm in a firearm-free zone and illegal carrying of a weapon, according to Breaux Bridge Police Department Facebook post.  Police allege Chavis fatally shot a woman, who was his relative, at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday in the 700 block of Albert Street in Breaux Bridge, according to police department spokesperson Terry Latiolais. Chavis was arrested on the scene. Chavis was booked on a $550,000 bond and transferred to the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center.
