â Louisiana State Police are investigating an early morning fatal crash.
On June 30, 2021, shortly before 1:00 am, Louisiana State Police Troop I was notified of a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 Westbound near Butte La Rose. The crash claimed the life of an unidentified Hispanic male, according to a spokesperson for Troop I.
The initial investigation by State Police revealed a 1991 Mercedes-Benz sedan traveling west on I-10 was struck from behind by a Honda Pilot SUV. Moments after the initial crash caused the vehicles to be disabled, the driver of the Mercedes exited his vehicle. Shortly after that, a Jeep Liberty SUV struck the Mercedes fatally injuring the unidentified driver as he stood near his vehicle, the spokesperson stated.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The missing body of a boater was recovered from the Little Atchafalaya River on May 7 in St. Martin Parish, according to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.
Officials say the body of Robert Schoeffler, 81, of Lafayette was found around 6 p.m. Friday.
Schoeffler had been missing since April 29, authorities say. His body was turned over to the St. Martin Parish Coronerâs Office.
According to LDWF, Schoeffler was operating a 16-foot boat with a passenger on board when another boat collided with them.

ST. MARTIN PARISH - A New Iberia woman was killed in a Thursday (Feb. 4) morning crash in St. Martin Parish, authorities say.
According to Louisiana State Police, 64-year-old Karlina F. Rosella lost her life in a single-vehicle crash that occurred shortly before 6 a.m. on Federal Highway 90 near Le Triomphe Parkway.
Police say their initial investigation revealed that the crash occurred as Rosella was driving west on US 90 in a 2008 Kia Amanti. They go on to say that for unknown reasons, her vehicle ran off the roadway into the median and hit a curb before going airborne.

St. Martin Parish – At approximately 5:30 a.m., on February 4, 2021, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop I began investigating a single-vehicle crash on Federal Highway 90 near Le Triomphe Parkway in St. Martin Parish. The crash took the life of 64-year-old Karlina F. Rosella of New Iberia.
The initial investigation by State Police revealed that the crash occurred as Rosella was driving west on US 90 in a 2008 Kia Amanti. For unknown reasons, Rosella’s vehicle ran off the roadway into the median. The Kia struck a curb, went airborne and overturned. Upon doing so, Rosella was ejected from the vehicle.
