Patricia Espinosa Outlines Four Keys to Success at COP26
UN Climate Change News, 3 February 2021 – In an online lecture organized by the London School of Economics, UN Climate Change Executive Secretary Patricia Espinosa today set out the four keys to success at the UN Climate Change Conference COP26 in Glasgow in November from the perspective of the UN.
In her lecture, she took stock of the continuing climate emergency five years on from the Paris Climate Change Agreement with some sobering facts. 2020 was among the hottest three years on record and ocean heat is at record levels, all the result of continuously rising concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.

Building Resilience in a Warming World – Global Adaptation Summit 25
UN Climate Change News, 22 January 2021 – Leaders are set to galvanize action to build resilience to the inevitable impacts of climate change at an online global conference 25 and 26 January. Such impacts included extreme weather, wildfires and floods that have become more frequent with rising temperatures worldwide.
The Climate Adaptation Summit (CAS) 2021, hosted by the Netherlands and led by former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, will see the launch of a comprehensive Adaptation Action Agenda setting out practical climate solutions and plans up to 2030 to adapt to a warming world and achieve a climate-resilient future. The Summit will be attended by UN Climate Change Executive Secretary Patricia Espinosa, the UN’s top climate change official.
US back in Paris pact raises hope, optimism to heal planet

New Delhi, Jan 22 : With Joe Biden unveiling sweeping actions to combat climate change just hours after becoming the new US President, moving to rejoin the 2015 Paris accord and suspension of new oil and gas leasing and drilling permits, diplomats and green groups, had a collective sigh of relief.
They say by reversing former President Donald Trump’s decisions, the US, the world’s second-largest greenhouse gas emitter, has demonstrated the real leadership and action as demanded by the climate emergency and has shown the world the path it must take to heal the planet.
