In their joint reply to a parliamentary question by MP Fernand Kartheiser from the Alternative Democratic Reform Party (adr), Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, Minister of Health Paulette Lenert, and Minister for Foreign Affairs Jean Asselborn stated that they are not aware of any secondary agreements regarding the purchase of vaccines. They also confirmed that the Luxembourg government has not concluded any agreement on its own without the EU. Kartheiser also enquired, how many vaccines Luxembourg had ordered in total. As of Monday 15 March 2021, Luxembourg has ordered a total of 2,025,683 vaccine doses, enough to vaccinate 1,237,205 people.
