KARAK: The District Coordination Committee has approved uplift projects worth Rs1.9 billion under the Area Development Programme (ADP).
The approval was given at a meeting chaired by Karak deputy commissioner Abdul Ghafoor Shah here on Friday. Heads of line departments were also in attendance.
The committee approved four roads projects, including Ahmadabad-Alamsheri Road, Amberi Kala-Rehmatabad Road, Karak-Nari Panos Road and Teri Old Road. Approval was also accorded to solarisation of 15 drinking water supply schemes and 15 health facilities.
Of the total uplift funds, the body set aside Rs650 million for the irrigation department, Rs98 million for the public health engineering department, Rs520 million for the communication and works department, Rs84 million for the health department, Rs60 million for the social welfare department and Rs185 million for the livestock department.
Three rape cases registered after protest

KASUR: On the order of Sheikhupura RPO Inam Waheed, Serai Mughal police on Saturday registered three rape cases while the SHO of the police station was suspended for negligence.
Sheikhupura RPO Inam Waheed was informed that the Serai Mughal police was not registering rape cases of minor girls. To it, the RPO reached Serai Mughal and met the affected parents and the victims and listened to their complaints. The RPO ordered registration of three rape cases on the spot.
The police also arrested an alleged suspect Yaseen. The RPO also suspended Serai Mughal police SHO Rab Nawaz for showing negligence and carelessness.

FAISALABAD: As many as 676 shopping malls, cafes, restaurants, hotels, marriage halls and transports have been sealed during the last week under corona S OPs.
The crackdown was being carried out by the assistant commissioners on the violations of corona SOPs on the order of the Punjab government. The administration also got cases registered against 17 persons and imposed more than Rs 500,000 fine on them.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali said that 254 shopping malls, 357 restaurants, cafés/hotels, 39 wedding halls and 26 transports had been sealed for corona SOPs violation. The DC said that the district administration would ensure implementation on corona SOPs at all cost.

Four committees for planning, execution, supervision and monitoring of COVID-19 vaccination programme in Telangana was formed by the State government.
The committees are State Steering Committee, State Task Force, District Task Force and Mandal Task Force. Senior officials said the State government has begun preparations for possible introduction of COVID-19 vaccine.
