It has also ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi to consider the case of the petitioner for a house under Prime Minister Awas Yojna or any other Central or State Scheme. The Supreme Court on Wednesday directed Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi to ensure that minor children of a rape victim are provided free education till they attain the age of 14 years.
Ludhiana: A local court has sentenced a disciple of a self-styled godman to 12 years’ rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor at his office.
The court of additional sessions judge Rashmi Sharma also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on the convict, Puran Mal. In case of default in fine payment, he will have to undergo another year’s rigorous imprisonment. The court also asked the District Legal Services Authority to pay Rs 4-lakh relief to the survivor under the victim compensation scheme.
On June 28, 2017, Ludhiana police had booked Puran Mal of Churu in Rajasthan, who worked at the office of “godman” Mian Baadshah, for raping the 17-year-old at his office.

New Delhi [India], January 14 (ANI): Stressing that messaging app WhatsApp s updated privacy policy violates Right to Privacy, an advocate has moved the Delhi High Court seeking direction for an injunction against the new policy by WhatsApp with immediate effect.
The plea was filed by advocate Chaitanya Rohilla who stated that WhatsApp changed its Privacy Policy in most arbitrary manner and had made it compulsory for its users to accept its terms and conditions, failing which the accounts and services would be terminated after February 8, 2021 for the respective user.
