DDC Rajouri conducts whirlwind tour to inspect development works

RAJOURI, Jan 20: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan, today conducted a day long tour of the district and inspected physical and financial progress on a number of developmental works.
The DDC inspected the progress on Government Medical College coming up at an estimated cost of Rs 139 crore including Rs 69 crore for the Academic Block, Rs 40 crore for the Administrative block and Rs 30 crores for other allied works.
The DDC was informed that the work on both the blocks and the approach road to GMC would be completed by February end this year and that on Hostel and residential building the following month.

JAMMU, Jan 18: Series of activities were held across Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh to mark the beginning of National Road Safety Month.
The day witnessed inaugural functions, walkathons and awareness rallies organized by respective district administrations.
JAMMU: The 32nd National Road Safety Month was today inaugurated by Transport Commissioner, J&K Pardeep Kumar, with the flagging off a Walkathon-cum-Awareness Rally, here at Gulshan Ground.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Traffic Jammu, Shiv Kumar Sharma was the guest of honour on the occasion.
A 30 year old teacher of Chifunabuli district in Luapula Province has been found dead in her house after she was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend.
And an undisclosed amount of money meant to pay Social Cash Transfer beneficiaries that the late teacher was keeping in the house has also been stolen by the suspected murderer.
The teacher identified as Anety Lutanda, is believed to have met her fate between 19.00 hours on Thursday January 14th to 06.00 hours on Friday 15th January, 2021 and is suspected to have been murdered by her boyfriend who robbed her of the said funds.
Confirming the incident in the district yesterday, Luapula Province Deputy Commissioner of Police, Davis Simwanza said the deceased was a teacher at Saashi Primary School in Chifunabuli and was the Social Cash Transfer Pay Point Manager for Saashi and Mwita communities.

Pulwama (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], December 18 (ANI): In an inspiring story, a physically challenged man from Pulwama district has started his own business against all odds. 34-year-old Arshid Ahmad Wani, who could hardly make ends meet, is now providing employment to a number of people at his joinery unit.
A resident of Malpora, Litter village of the Pulwama, Wani was a carpenter by profession. In 2016, a tragedy took place and his life changed forever. While he was working on the rooftop of a cowshed, he lost his balance and fell on the boulders, which caused grievous injuries to his legs.
