A woman suffered a severed lip and had a tooth knocked out during an alleged outburst of violence involving a hammer and Stanley Knife in north Belfast, a court heard today.
Police said she was discovered bleeding heavily from a wound to the back of the head at flats in the New Lodge area.
Details emerged as two men were remanded in custody accused of involvement in the incident on March 5.
Kevin Taylor (24) of Hamill Grove in Andersonstown, faces a total of 10 charges, including aggravated burglary and attempting to inflict grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and criminal damage to a Volkswagen Polo.

This is the former kit manager for a top Irish League club accused of a string of child sexual abuse offences.
Aaron Foster, also a football scout, is facing a total of nine charges including abuse of a position of trust with children and possession of indecent images of children.
The 25-year-old ex-Glentoran kitman denies all the offences and is due to contest the matter later this year.
According to court documents, east Belfast-based Foster is alleged to have incited a male aged under 18 to engage in sexual activity and of possessing indecent images of children.
He is further accused of attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming and encouraging a child to take a sexual image of another minor.
