Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batting coach Mike Hussey has tested positive for COVID-19. This comes after the franchise s bowling coach Lakshmipathy Balaji also tested positive for the dreaded virus. Balaji and a support staff member tested positive on May 2. As per IPL protocols the rest of the CSK squad will now remain under isolation, CSK said in a tweet on Tuesday. Both Balaji and the staff member have been isolated from the rest of the squad and they are in good spirits . In the wake of several players and support staff testing positive for COVID-19, IPL 2021 was postponed by the BCCI on Tuesday.

In the wake of Covid-19 cases at Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is discussing the possibility of moving the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) to one venue, NDTV has learnt. Mumbai might be that venue with the city having three stadiums to host matches. BCCI has already made calls to hotels in Mumbai for creating bio-bubbles for eight teams. This means that the Kolkata and Bangalore leg of the IPL may be scrapped.

New Delhi [India], May 3 (ANI): A petition was filed in the Delhi High Court seeking an enquiry as to why the Indian Premier League (IPL) is being prioritized over the Public Health and to direct the Centre, the Delhi government and cricketing bodies BCCI and DDCA to immediately stop the matches with an immediate effect.
The plea was filed by Advocate Karan Singh Thukral and social activist Inder Mohan Singh.
Thukral is a practicing Advocate and presently suffering from Covid-19 and has been distressed to see the state of affairs in the city and the complete failure of the medical system.

New Delhi/Ahmedabad, May 4 : A big question mark on continuation of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was raised on Monday after two Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) players tested positive for Covid-19, forcing the KKR-Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) match to be postponed, even as similar news emerged from the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) camp.
A couple of CSK franchise members and three members of the ground staff at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, venue of IPL matches on May 4 and 5, have tested positive. However, the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) officials insisted that at least Tuesday match between SunRisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians was on. Delhi is also scheduled to host a Rajasthan Royals-CSK match on Wednesday.
