SRINAGAR: In order to assess the effective implementation of various welfare schemes in J&K, Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha today chaired a review meeting and sought the detailed status of relief measures being extended to different sections of the society affected due to Covid-19 pandemic.

Maximum projects pertain to PWD, Jal Shakti, YS&S, PDD

JAMMU, May 8: Nearly 50% of the total projects which have been completed by the Jammu and Kashmir Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation Limited (JKIDFC) by spending crores of rupees were languishing for the period ranging between 5 years and 20 years for want of resources.
With this development, people will finally start reaping the benefits of such projects which were planned for execution several years back, said Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory Manoj Sinha.
According to the report of the Government about completion of 1100 projects by spending Rs 1555.6 crore, the copy of which is available with EXCELSIOR, 4 projects were languishing for more than 20 years, 16 projects for more than 15 years, 91 projects for 10 years, 228 projects for more than 10 years and 267 up to five years.

JAMMU, Apr 25: Administrative Secretary, Tribal Affairs Department and Chief Executive Officer Mission Youth, J&K , Dr Shahid Choudhary discussed roadmap for fast tracking developmental projects and new initiatives by the department. Projects were reviewed in a meeting of officers held today.
Deliberations were held on establishment of Model Residential Schools in tribal areas, creation of posts and filling vacancies to strengthen the department for efficient functioning, developing portal for scholarship disbursement and real-time online monitoring, e-office, new projects , educational plan and Forest Rights Act implementation.
