The Queens Chamber of Commerce recently hosted its annual Queens Day in Albany event to recognize local businesses that have weathered the pandemic, and to discuss future economic recovery efforts in the borough.
The annual event gives local business leaders the opportunity to advocate Queens’ Senate and Assembly delegation
According to the chamber, the event began with remarks from the Queens Chamber’s President & CEO, Thomas Grech, and Chairman Thomas Santucci, highlighting the Chamber’s efforts to assist small businesses throughout the pandemic, and the great strides the organization has made in its 110 year history.

Mother’s day turns tragic with a shocking incident in Queens, NY. The 28-year-old Pushkar Sharma, an Indian-origin man, has been booked on criminal homicide and sexually assaulting his 65-year-old mother at their residence in New York on 9th of May.
Pushkar allegedly attacked his mother Soraj Sharma in a brutal manner at their home in Jamaica in Bellerose Manor on Saturday morning. As per the prosecutors, the suspect grabbed his mother from behind, choked and punched her until she fell to the floor.
“Once down, the son allegedly continued the attack, strangling and punching his mother before sexually assaulting her. The victim lost consciousness and then died,” the New York Post quoted the officials as saying.
