A family member said that remains discovered Wednesday are thought to be that of Linda Stoltzfoos, but investigators have yet to make an official identification.
Mervin Fisher, who is Stoltzfoos uncle, said the family has been told there are strong indicators the remains recovered are Linda s.
âAll of us have been hoping for closure. Itâs not the news we wanted, but progress is moving forward to bring Linda to rest,â he said.
The man charged with killing and kidnapping missing Amish woman Linda Stoltzfoos moved her body days after killing her and buried it on railroad property behind where he worked, District Attorney Heather Adams said in a news conference Thursday.
Adams also confirmed the body found near Gap is that of Stoltzfoos, who disappeared 10 months to the day her body was recovered. We strongly believe, and are comfortable saying, the remains are those of 18-year-old Linda Stoltzfoos, Adams said.
Stoltzfoos body was found along with a bonnet, dress and shoes consistent with the clothing worn by Linda on the day of her disappearance, Adams said.

The Lancaster County District Attorney s office held a news conference Thursday to discuss the discovery of remains found during the search for Linda Stoltzfoos.
The news conference is started at 11 a.m.

The remains were discovered by a team consisting of the FBI, East Lampeter Township police and Pennsylvania State Police, the district attorney s office said in a news release.

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. Lancaster County District Attorney Heather Adams announced that the human remains officials located in a rural part of eastern Lancaster County on Wednesday are believed to be that of Linda Stoltzfoos, a missing Lancaster County Amish woman.
Stoltzfoos, 18, was last seen leaving a church service to walk home to her family s farm on June 21, 2020. She was reported missing a day later.
