Ryan Nettles with 5 TDs, leads Alabama State over MVSU 42-17
Alabama State (3-2, 3-1 Southwestern Athletic Conference) has won 11 straight against Mississippi Valley State (1-3, 1-3).
Nettles completed 20 of 34 passes for 305 yards and added 66 yards rushing on seven carries.
Nettles’ 59-yard touchdown pass to Wallace Corker gave the Hornets the lead for good, 14-10, with 14:32 remaining in the second quarter.
Jalani Eason threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to Malik Myers and had a 24-yard TD run for the Delta Devils.

JACKSON, Miss. – Senior quarterback Aqeel Glass (St. Louis, Mo.) delivered a day for the ages and Alabama A&M (3-0, 2-0 SWAC) put up the most points against a Division I opponent in 12 years as they raced past Jackson State (3-3, 2-2 SWAC) 52-43 in an NCAA Division I football game on Saturday, April 10.

Former NFL legend and current college coach Deion Sanders has brokered an agreement between Pepsi and the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC).
Pepsi will be the official beverage for the conference’s football and basketball championship games for the next three years. The deal is part of Pepsi’s Racial Equity Journey.
Sanders, who played for five NFL teams between 1989 and 2005 is now the head football coach at Jackson State University. Sanders, who had a relationship with the soft drink giant from his playing days, helped broker the agreement as a coach in the SWAC.
