After a spring football season of working and waiting, coach Connell Maynor finally got what he wanted, and it was what he’s gotten throughout the season.
Maynor’s Alabama A&M Bulldogs were to take on Mississippi Valley State for a chance to host the Spring 2021 Cricket Wireless SWAC Football Championship Game Presented By Pepsi Zero Sugar.
But just like five prior weeks, A&M didn’t get on the field because its game with the Delta Devils was called off. That was fine with Maynor, whose squad (4-0, 3-0 SWAC) will square off Saturday against No. 25 Arkansas-Pine Bluff (4-0, 4-0 SWAC) for the championship of the Southwestern Athletic Conference.
Team 90s in this debate includes two Hall of Famers, four 10,000-yard receivers, and
eight Pro Bowlers. The Jets began the draft with Keyshawn Johnson the last receiver to go No. 1 and the Colts grabbed Marvin Harrison with a first-round pick obtained via 1994 s Jeff George trade. A year after trading up for J.J. Stokes, the 49ers found Jerry Rice s true heir apparent in Terrell Owens (Round 3). This class s depth, however, wins out. First-rounder Eric Moulds made three Pro Bowls and took the Bills WR1 baton from Andre Reed; Joe Horn (Round 5) made four as a Saint; Muhsin Muhammad (Round 2) played 14 seasons; the Giants depended on Amani Toomer for over a decade. Also including Terry Glenn, Bobby Engram, and Eddie Kennison, this draft remains the bar 25 years later.

JSU ready to resume undefeated mission after layoff
JSU ready to get back on field after layoff By Trey Mongrue | April 26, 2021 at 8:29 PM CDT - Updated April 26 at 11:28 PM
JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - A new tradition has emerged as the Jackson State baseball team continues its historic run in conference play this season.
“Coach (Omar) Johnson cooks either steaks, hamburgers or hot dogs every Monday after we sweep a weekend,” said JSU senior right fielder Chandler Dillard. “That’s been a little incentive that we’ve had.”
Unfortunately for Dillard and the hungry - in more ways than one - Tigers, the grill was untouched this week. Not because the Tigers failed to sweep a SWAC opponent for the first time this season, but because they didn’t play anyone this past weekend.
