The Competitions Champion is the school team that earns the most points from competing in all four ABA Law Student Division competitions combined. The four competitions are the Arbitration Competition, Negotiation Competition, Client Counseling Competition and National Appellate Advocacy Competition (NAAC Moot Court). MSU clinician researcher to serve leadership position in Henry Ford Medical Group Richard Leach, a national expert on in vitro fertilization and an academic researcher in the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, has been appointed chair of the Henry Ford Medical Group’s Department of Women’s Health Services. Leach will serve in a dual role and continue as chair of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology for MSU’s College of Human Medicine. The appointment is notable in that it is the first announcement made since Henry Ford Health System and MSU finalized their 30-year partnership in January. As part of the alignment, Henry Ford and MSU aim to transform health care, advance medical research and address health disparities.

The Pfizer vaccine has been approved by the FDA for children ages 12 to 15 years old. Vaccinating this demographic is crucial to combatting the COVID-19 pandemic, but many are still hesitant of vaccinating their children. Veronica McNally of the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices seeks to reassure parents that the Pfizer vaccine is as effective for kids as it is for adults.  “As of last week the Pfizer vaccine … 138 million doses had been administered … and an adolescent trial indicated 100% efficacy … and as of today several thousand children have received the Pfizer vaccine.” Veronica McNally, Michigan State University
