Over $500,000 in rental, utility assistance distributed in Ingham County under new relief program

Over $500,000 in rental, utility assistance distributed in Ingham County under new relief program More than a half-million dollars in rental and utility assistance has been distributed to Ingham County families as of last week, less than a month after the Michigan State Housing Development Authority launched its new rental relief program. The state launched the COVID Emergency Rental Assistance program on March 15, replacing the Eviction Diversion Program which had been providing relief to Michigan renters since last summer by giving landlords up to 90% of back rent incurred due to pandemic related hardships. An online portal for the program, where applicants can fill out and submit required documents, began operation earlier this month.
