LANSING – A Roscommon County man pleaded guilty to child sex crime charges Thursday in Shiawassee County Circuit Court, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced today.
Michael Clune, 50, of Houghton Lake, pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a child under age 13, and one count of aggravated child sexually abusive activity. He will be sentenced as a habitual second offender. He entered the plea before 35th Circuit Court Judge Matthew Stewart.
Clune used the internet to communicate with a 12-year-old boy and coerced the boy into meeting him. After picking the boy up from his home, Clune took him to a hotel and engaged in sexual activity with the minor in Shiawassee County. The Attorney General’s office announced several charges against Clune in October.

LANSING – Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel recently joined a coalition of attorneys general urging the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to withdraw the decision to terminate the Haitian Family Reunification Parole Program (HFRP) and the Filipino World War II Veteran Parole Program (FWVP).
The HFRP, started in 2014, provides a pathway for Haitians with approved family-based immigrant visa applications to join family members in the United States prior to receiving their visas. USCIS later implemented the FWVP Program to similarly provide a pathway for reunifying Filipino World War II veterans in the United States with family member
