Former U-M Athletes Want School To Take Action Many former University of Michigan athletes who say they were sexually abused by former U-M doctor, the deceased Dr. Robert Anderson, want the school s Board of Regents to take Immediate action regarding the many allegations against Anderson. The former athletes are scheduled to have a press conference on Wednesday right across from Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor to voice their concerns.  U-M s Board of Regents is set to have their next Board meeting on Thursday. There are over 800 former Michigan athletes who have alleged, dating back to the 1970s, that Anderson sexually abused them.  Many of them being former football players.  Some of them claim that they let longtime football coach Bo Schembechler and longtime athletic director Don Canham know about the abuse, but that they did nothing about it.

Eventually Kalamazoo s Derek Jeter, the long time New York Yankees captain, will be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. But due to the pandemic, and now to be able to make it safe for both fans and for the returning Hall of Famers, the ceremony has been pushed back to Wednesday afternoon, September 8th. in Cooperstown, New York, in September. Due to safety precautions, seating will be limited. In past years, seating was first come, first served, but this year fans will be required to have a ticket. The tickets are free, but very limited, and will become available on July 12th at 11am ET. Here s the link to try and get those free tickets. Seating will be split up between vaccinated and un-vaccinated fans.

Longtime Holt Coach Rocky Shaft Passes Away Getty Images Multi-decade head coach of football and wrestling and alum at Holt High School, Rupert Rocky Shaft has passed away.  That s according to WILX-TV s David Andrews. Shaft won over 600 dual meets as a wrestling coach in the 40 years he coached the wrestling team.  He coached 200 state qualifiers and nearly 20 individual state champions since he took over the program in 1981.  He also coached three state title teams during his tenure.
