Urgilez was charged following an investigation by Detective Ryan Tighe of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, which alleged Urgilez altered copies of benefits checks issued by the Middlesex County Board of Social Services and deposited approximately $12,000 in stolen funds into his bank account, according to the statement.

Alejandro Urgilez, 33, was charged with forgery, theft by deception and uttering, the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office announced Thursday. Urgilzez was charged after an investigation revealed that he altered copies of benefits checks issued by the board and deposited about $12,000 in stolen funds into his bank account, the office alleged. No other information was released Thursday night as the investigation into the alleged crime remained ongoing.
