Officials are asking for the public's help with a homicide investigation for Jasmyn Beatty, a 28-year-old, who was found dead in her Framingham apartment.
Updated: 6:18 PM EDT May 27, 2021 The woman found dead Tuesday in her Framingham apartment suffered a significant slash wound to the back of her neck, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan revealed Thursday morning. Jasmyn Beatty, 28, was found dead at Halstead Apartments on Worcester Road.Ryan said the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has not issued an official ruling on the cause and manner of Beatty s death yet, but the case is being investigated as an apparent homicide. Right now, unfortunately, we are not able to say in these early stages whether this was a random attack or was committed by someone known to Jasmyn, Ryan said. Ryan and Mayor Yvonne Spicer on Thursday urged residents to be vigilant and report suspicious activity. They also promised extra patrols by Framingham Police. Snow said a threatening phone call to the arts center filled many LGBTQ residents and their family and friends with trepidation.
A symbol of acceptance
In September 2019, the board, after debate, adopted a policy to allow only governmental flags to be displayed at municipal sites.
Although the policy change followed the threat, Snow said he understands the policy change did not result from the alleged threat, or complaints about Pride flags.
