Renaissance Festival Will Happen with No Restrictions
Here s something to look forward to- The Ren Fest is Back! August 21-October 3rd. Plus Labor Day and Festival Day which is October 1. This was on their Facebook page.
Last year, along with basically everything else, the Renaissance Festival was cancelled. It s one of those things that Minnesotans like to attend at the end of summer. It gives people a chance to experience a festival that puts you back in time and it s like a giant interactive play where you can buy cool artsy type things and drink Mead. What is mead? It s basically a wine that is made from fermented honey and some fruits and stuff. And it s pretty potent. Can have up to 18% alcohol content. I m not sure that the stuff they serve at the Minnesota Ren Fest is that potent, but it can be.

MARSHALL It’s news that a lot of area residents have been waiting to hear, Deloris Richards said. A year after COVID-19 concerns closed everything down, the Lyon County Fair will be returning this August.
“A lot of people are really happy. I’ve been getting a lot of calls,” said Richards, the secretary of the Lyon County fair board.
The county fair will run from Aug. 11-15 in Marshall. Richards said the carnival midway and some of the entertainment events planned for last year’s fair will be coming to this year’s fair instead.
Big community gatherings like county fairs were one of the many things put on hold by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Counties around Minnesota and even the Minnesota State Fair announced they would be canceling fair events.

Summer events across Minnesota that had originally been canceled due to COVID-19 are now planning for a return.
Gov. Tim Walz announced last week that most of the state s restrictions will end before Memorial Day weekend.
Back to the 50s Weekend, a massive car show at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, had decided to call off its June event two weeks ago due to capacity restrictions.
Over the weekend, organizers decided to bring the event back, even though they now have only about a month to plan for it. Everything that s happening the next couple weeks, it s a day-by-day-by-day change. I ll tell you, it s crazy, said Board Secretary Linda Lucas. But it s also wonderful. It truly is.
