Campbell said that an earlier coloring competition had expected 75 entries but wound up inundated with more than 400. “We had the sense from these earlier reader engagement activities that people were hungry to actually participate and do something,” she said. From the amateur talent contest to the trivia show hosted by Star Tribune journalists Nicole Norfleet and Eric Roper, readers have been “game” for it all. This event looks amazing with five days full of food, brews, live music, shopping, and of course a ton of family fun at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. Now, if you want to get into the Kickoff to Summer event, you need to enter into a lottery system, that will randomly select people for an opportunity to purchase tickets.
According to a press release from the Minnesota State Fair, the lottery registration is open now through 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, May 6th. So if you want to get entered in, you better hustle! The Kickoff to Summer at the Fair will of course follow all current health and safety guidelines.
(KNSI) – After a year without the Great Minnesota Get-Together due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Minnesota State Fair is hosting a sneak peek of the festivities coming later this summer.
“Kickoff to Summer at the Fair” will happen May 27th through the 31st at the Minnesota State fairgrounds. The event will feature food, live music, beer, shopping and other activities.
“Last year’s Food Parades were a big hit, but they were also very limited,” said state fair general manager Jerry Hammer. “This year, we’re very happy to bring people back in a walk-around environment to enjoy a slice of the fair.”
