KLKN-TV April 14, 2021 11:50 am BROOKLYN CENTER, Minn. (KLKN) The Washington County Attorney has charged Kim Potter with 2nd-degree manslaughter in the shooting of 20-year-old Daunte Wright. According to a press release from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Potter was arrested Wednesday around 11:30 am. Attorney Ben Crump, co-counsel Jeff Storms, and Antonio Romanucci have released the following statement concerning Potter’s arrest: “While we appreciate that the district attorney is pursuing justice for Daunte, no conviction can give the Wright family their loved one back. This was no accident. This was an intentional, deliberate, and unlawful use of force. Driving while Black continues to result in a death sentence.
