The commission said it would also commence the processes for the July 2021 Minor Review of the Multi-Year Tariff Order (MYTO-2020), which is done every six months. NERC confirmed the reviews consider changes in inflation, foreign exchange, gas prices and available generation capacity.

NERC, which is the regulator of Nigeria’s power sector, made this known on Monday in a notice to the general public and industry stakeholders posted on its website. The commission said the review was pursuant to the provisions of the Electric Power Sector Reform Act (EPSRA). According to NERC, extraordinary tariff reviews are carried out in instances where industry parameters have changed from those used in the operating tariffs to such an extent that a review is urgently required to maintain the viability of the industry.

Security commanders meet in Port Harcourt after gunmen kill soldiers

Daily Post Nigeria Published Heads of security agencies have held an emergency meeting in Port Harcourt after gunmen killed five soldiers in the Abua-Odual Local government area of Rivers State in a fresh attack. The meeting which was called at the behest of the Commissioner of Police, CP Friday Eboka held after armed men killed eight security officials along the Port Harcourt Owerri road. On the incident in Abua, a source said the attack happened around 11pm on Sunday where the gunmen ambushed the soldiers on their way to their hotel at Omelema. “We were in the village when we heard that something had happened at Omelema. The soldiers were working for an oil servicing company and they took their weapons away. The CSO of the company escaped with bullet wounds and is currently in the hospital”, the source said.
