Mira Bhayandar: New MBMC chief Dilip Dhole tables Rs 1508 cr budget for FY 21-22 FPJ Photo Deprived of any big ideas or new schemes for the twin-city, newly appointed Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) chief Dilip Dhole on Friday presented Rs 1,508.91 crore realistic draft budget tagged with a meager surplus of Rs 25.85 lakh to standing committee chairman Dinesh Jain for the fiscal year 2021-22. No new levies or a hike in existing taxes has been proposed by the civic administration. Last year the BJP-led MBMC had passed a Rs 1,841.81 crore budget tagged with a pathetically meagre surplus of Rs 25 lakh on the virtue of their majority in the special general body house which was digitally held via video conferencing due to the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic.

The startling revelations have come to fore from the divisional property tax office located in the Kashigaon area which falls under the jurisdiction of ward number six in the MBMC. Seven staffers including two women have been deployed at this office which apart from catering to tax-related issues, also accommodates property tax records of ward number four and six in its premises.

The felicitation ceremony was held at the deputy mayor’s cabin in the main administrative building of the MBMC in Bhayandar on Monday in the presence of Chief Fire Officer Dr. Prakash Borade.

Mira Bhayandar: MBMC vaccinates 683 health workers in first three days FPJ Correspondent A total of 683 out of the 900 shortlisted beneficiaries have so far been vaccinated in the first three days of the Covid-19 immunization drive conducted by the health department of the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) till Wednesday, January 20. Vaccinations have been planned at three centers including a private hospital in Mira Road, the jumbo Covid-19 facility in Bhayandar (east) and Bharat Ratna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Civil Hospital in Bhayandar (west). As per government guidelines, 100 doses per vaccination center have to be administered to beneficiaries per day. 268 (89%) out of the 300 short-listed health workers were vaccinated on the first day (January 16), following which the drive was suspended for two days on Sunday and Monday owing to technical glitches in the Cowin application. After resumption, the count was reduced to 194 (65%) and 221 (74%) on Tuesday (January 19)
