Inmate pronounced dead at Milwaukee County Jail

Sheriff s officials identified the inmate as Anthony Walther, booked into custody in February.
Walther, 26, was found unresponsive in his cell just afternoon. Sheriff s officials say correctional officers and medical personnel began life-saving measures, followed by paramedics, but Walther was pronounced dead.
His body was taken to the medical examiner for an autopsy.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) A death investigation is underway at the Milwaukee County Jail Monday, April 5, after a 26-year-old man was found unresponsive in his cell.
The Milwaukee County Sheriff s Office says correctional officers and medical personnel began performing life-saving measures until the Milwaukee Fire Department arrived and took over. However, the man was pronounced deceased at 12:44 p.m.
The inmate was identified as Anthony Walther of Milwaukee, who was booked into custody on Feb. 16.
Officials say there were no apparent signs of self-harm.
The Waukesha County Sheriff s Department has been requested to conduct an independent investigation into the incident.
